Hi, I have been looking around the internet for sometime for Peavey Pa hire in my local area. I am looking to hire:

2x Peavey Pro 15's Top Speakers
2x Peavey Pro Sub Bass Bins
1x Peavey Pv2600 Amplifier
2x Pioneer cdj1000 Tabletop Cd Players
1x Pioneer DJM600 4 Channel Mixer

I would like to hire this equipment for 2 weeks for a school production (" We Will Rock You ").
I am looking to spend £500-£600 for the 2 weeks.

If you could reply as soon as possible that would be great

Whilst your budget isn't huge, it is certainly not ridiculously small, therefore I'm curious as to why you want to hire horrible sounding P****y cabs?

With a bit of negotiating, you should be able to hire a couple of stacks of C7 & P1200s for that sort of money.

Chesham, in Bucks? I wouldn't look at that as being 2 hours from London but its the only one that comes up.

It's alot of money for a system like that for 2 weeks.

Regardless, I honestly think the Peavey range represent good value.

maybe ive got this wrong, but the budget seems a little low IMO. The key part to focus on is the CD Player/Mixer combo, which typically go out for £100 a day (package). Do you really need £1500 CD Players?

We dont hire the Peavey pro Range, but we just sold a package of 2 x Pro 15's Powered and 2 x Pro Subs Powered all in 6 months old for £550, typical!

I see that you are putting on a school production, what exactly are your requirements?

One thing that often frustrates me in the day job is that people come to me for help and present me with their solution, rather than with the problem. Their solution is rarely the best one as they're not experts in the field. Once I've ascertained what it is that they're trying to achieve, I can usually then present a much more appropriate solution.
There's a wealth of experience on this forum; if you explain exactly what you're trying to achieve, people may be able to suggest solutions that you'd never come up with on your own.
The equipment that you're suggesting doesn't seem to me to be particularly appropriate for a school musical, hence the various posts asking why you want them.

...so you will not be requiring the DJ kit? I can only assume that is the intention - saving yourself a few bob on the one hand for a better system.

It has already been said, but you haven't shed any light on what you are trying to achieve in the slightest. I don't know how you expect people to react to something as closed as a simple wish-list of kit which seems to change by the day. Read what Shez has to say again before you post.

You have yet to respond to my PM, so in the attempt to be a little more constructive and perhaps encourage some discussion - this is, after all, a forum - I will make a suggestion. I am not an 'expert', so hopefully some more details will slowly emerge, and others can chip in.

With the money saved opting for the Numark controller, I believe you should simplify the setup, and maybe consider a powered system, with as little processing as possible. Something like the Turbosound TQ 440 / 425 combination, or the TQ 308 / 115.

Non powered, perhaps the Nexo PS8 / LS400 combination. In fact, a quick search brings up http://www.soundcheckltd.co.uk/. Maybe give them a call.

Or if you really like peavey try the 'UL' series instead of the 'pro' range.
