I'm looking at replacing the on off switch - a SMD switch where the solder pads can't quite fully be accessed without some disassembly of the circuit board sandwich.

Has anyone attempted this? If so, any handy hints you'd like to share?

I've done it. Right fiddle from memory and almost everything had to come off. I can't however, remember any specific "Gotchas".

It looks like the SMD switch might just be replacable without taking the circuit board sandwich apart...

However, I did try disassembly - took the ribbon cable off the top pcb and tried sliding it out of the handle so that I could access the lower pcb fixing screw, but it doesn't seem to want to slide out fully. I don't want to force the pcb, so if anyone knows how best to take this apart, do let me know!

They DO come out all the way. I can't for the life of me remember how. I'll keep thinking, I don't have one here with me to refresh my memory, but I have had it out of the handle completely before. Is this a G2 model or not? the one I disassembled was, but I can't see there being much difference. If I get chance tomorrow I'll have a quick look at one and it might refresh my memory. I have both G2 and non G2 ones.
