Hi there
Does anyone have experience of using radio mic's in spain. I've been looking on the web and information seems scant to say the least.
I will call JFMG on monday but if anyone can help in the mean time it would be cool.

Thanks

Hi,

All of the work I've done in Spain ( 30 or so jobs ) has worked with channel 69 radios - last time we tried to get licences ( 2 years ago ish ) it was virtually impossible and we were unofficially informed that it was a free for all!

Sennheiser have a bit of info on the web:

http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_e...ncy-check_spain

I did have a fair bit of 'background' RF in Barcelona last time I was there, but it was still OK. I had no problems in Malaga last month ( 20 channels in & around ch: 69 ).

Where are you planning to work??

Regards

Oliver.

Big Dave
Last time I was out there in November, in addition to 10 channels of 69, we had a about 20 channels of 62/63 supplied by Handheld Audio. I believe (although I didn't actually see them), that we had the licenses as I was told that we could only change the frequency plot in a dire emergency.

If JFMG are no help, then maybe a call to George Hogan might get you the information you need.

I've normally found the Spanish quite helpful whenever we have needed a licence provided you ask in plenty of time.

From prior experience:
Ch.69 is normally OK if your indoors, if you are working outside then there is some chance of interference.
Ch.62/63 works fine
Ch.35/36 is also fine.

If you give me an email address I have a copy of the appropriate application form and the details of who you need to speak to.

I'm looking at doing a job in Brunol nr. Valencia in August and am wondering if we can take our Senn ew300 G2 out there (E-band). They will cover 830-865 MHz. Does anyone have experience in this area and can suggest if we will be OK to use them out there?

I would say yes, if the gear you are using is a max of 10mW.

From the Sennheiser site:
QUOTE
Frequencies (in MHz) max. RF output (in mW)
174.1 - 179.3.....50
863.1 - 863.9.....10

Frequencies (in MHz) for users from abroad
174.1 - 179.3
863.1 - 863.9

I used around 22 channels of range E, 20 channels of range D, 8 channels of ch:36 and some VHF (!!) for an event in central Valencia about 18 months ago without any issues.

How many channels are you looking to use, if you want to use up to 10 channels then I would say no problem, if you want to use 20 channels then I'd allow for some contingency by taking another range.

NO WAY!! YOUR comming to MY town!!

By any chance the last week of august for the festival?
If so you´ll be here in time for the tomatoe fight!

Dnt worry about radio frequencies... go looking for an empty channel and use it...
Buñol has nothing in it other than a local radio (fm) and the usual police (x3) ambulence, civil protection and builders etc...
Its a pretty small town but during august will fill up with numerous events/stages etc etc etc who might all be taking their share of the airwaves...

If u need ANY info just PM me.. Also if you end up here short of anythign let me know.. we have a warehouse full of gear collecting dust!
