Hello!
As above, I'm wondering how people think it compares (in use - I've already compared various spec-sheets) with other large-format consoles doing the rounds at the moment, such as A&H ML4000/5000 series...
Just to give an idea, it's going to be used for a panto, and before anyone asks, YES I do need 48 channels!!!

only used the audient aztec a couple of times, but both times had a really goog gig. good layout, clean, nice eq, etc. different league to A&H MLx. more comparable to soundcraft MH or even mid-range midas. SRD audio @ tonbridge, kent have one on their hire stock. contact: stuart roberts. www.srd.uk.com. and last time visited marquee club, leicester sq - was on an audient (a while ago mind, so don't know if they're still got it).

Aztec's a lovely board.
Excellent preamps and eq, well featured.
Puts A&H stuff to shame.

No worries about the Audient...great board, great sound (much better than the A&H ML5000 according to me) !

The Aztec is a great desk. Very clean souding and a lovely EQ. I found the aux's a bit frustrating when trying to mix monitors from FOH but that was only a once off. It's sensibly priced also.

Cheers for the replies, people!
It's all a bit academic now, but it's good that I know what's available if needed. Having just come back from the London run of our show, I've found that I didn't need the drum overheads or the stage rifles that I was specifically asked to spec by the director. I now only need a 40-channel desk and have chosen the familiarity of the ML4000 we have available...
Still, knowing a little more from people who've used the Audient desk gives me some more options to play with if the Newcastle venue proves tricky!!
