I cannot seem to get the thing to sound right. I am using a NEXO PS 15 system with 2 LS1200 bottoms, 2 Camco Vortex 6 Amps, and a Spirit board.
My gain setting for the mic is at 9:00
Highs- 10:00
Low Mid 10:00
Mid - 12:00 - 1:00
Lows- 11:00- 12:00
Rooms are also rung out manually with my Ultra Curve.
My partner, who does the sound is complaining that the mic is reedy and lacks the warmth of the SM87 that I used to use. I have tried many different settings with little success. If I boost the gain, feedback, if I increase volume, feedback.
I used it last night to do sound for a friend's band. He complained the whole time he used the Sennheiser, however, when I gave it to the Female singer in the band, she loved it and she sounded brilliant.
Also, I am finding that I don't have as much head room with the vocals as I thought I would have with the NEXO or as much as I would like. Is there a way to get more headroom?
Thanks in advance, wise ones.
