BLUE ROOM TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

GENERAL

The Blue Room is a discussion forum, set up for the purposes of discussing issues related to life and work 'behind the scenes' in the Live Entertainments Industry.

These Terms and Conditions apply equally to all Blue Room users, including moderators and staff.

The Blue Room does not allow any illegal activities. Nor may you discuss anything relating to illegal activities or link to external sites that violate these Terms and Conditions.

Please do not post links to any materials (including software and other information) that could harm other users' computers or would allow others to inappropriately access software or Web sites. If you post Web links or URLs in The Blue Room that point to content deemed inappropriate by Blue Room moderators or staff members, you may have your Blue Room membership suspended or cancelled.

You may not transfer your Blue Room membership, either through gift or sale, or make your password available to others. If you share your account or information, your membership may be cancelled without warning.

You may only be registered as a member under one user name. Duplicate memberships will be discarded.

The Blue Room is not responsible for anything you say in the forums, or for any consequences that arise from what you say. If you break the law, you alone will be responsible for the consequences. You may not use The Blue Room to publish, post, distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, sexual, or other unlawful material, images, text, or information.

USER NAMES AND AVATARS

Please choose an appropriate user name and avatar. The Blue Room reserves the right to remove any user name or avatar it deems inappropriate for any reason. Inappropriate Blue Room user names or avatars may include those that in any way look like, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, insinuate or imply any of the following: profanity, sexual content (including but not limited to explicit language, sexual innuendo, sexual content, negative, disparaging or harmful references to sexual preferences), slurs (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), or illegal activities.

User names and avatars that make reference to controversial religious or political topics, infamous or notorious people or organizations, or sensitive current or historical events may also be considered inappropriate, whether they do so directly, indirectly or by implication.

PROFILE INFORMATION

The Blue Room gives you the ability to create your own profile. The Blue Room takes no responsibility for the content or use of these profiles.

Please ensure all the information contained within your Blue Room profile is correct and up to date. Specifically, your name, geographical location and year of birth are mandatory in order to verify your identity. Failure to provide the mandatory profile information, or misrepresentation via misleading information in your profile, may lead to suspension or removal of your account. As some details are visible to members and guests, in special circumstances, which will be decided on a case by case basis, it may be permissible for you to use as your publicly visible name a name which is not your real name. In this case you will still have to provide the board administrators with your real name which will be stored in the software but which will not be publicly visible.

Users claiming membership of professional organisations should note that we may ask you to provide proof of that membership.

If you are aged 16 or under, please get your parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide personal information to the Blue Room. Users without this consent are not allowed to register for an account on the Blue Room.

SIGNATURES

Your signature is provided as a means for you to sign off your posts. Members should keep their signature within Usenet guidelines - that is to say, a maximum of 4 lines of text and/or white space. A signature is not a means of advertising goods or services, although a company name and/or link to a company website is acceptable.

Fonts should be kept to the standard size for the forum, and image files should not be included. The moderators reserve the right to alter your signature without notice if they feel it does not fall within these guidelines.

GUIDELINES FOR POSTING

It is your responsibility to ensure that your post conforms to our terms and conditions. The Blue Room administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit or delete posts without warning. The Blue Room is not obligated to send users a warning before deleting any content.

If you are starting a new topic please check that your question has not been asked before. A Google search for keywords plus the added code “site:blue-room.org.uk” (without the quote signs) should help with this.

If you are replying to an existing topic please ensure that your post is relevant to the topic and is likely to be useful / interesting to other members.

Please keep all “non-backstage” topics in our ‘The Crew Room’ forum and all one-to-one discussions should use our Private Message facility.

If you are at all unsure about whether or not to post then please contact a moderator for advice.

We caution you against giving out personally identifiable information (such as, but not limited to: National Insurance, social security, welfare, DSS, private membership or credit/ debit card numbers, names and addresses, telephone numbers, driver license numbers) to strangers on-line, as this information may be used for illegal or harmful purposes.

Members should not post internet links which contain adult content and are not suitable for children, unless there is a compelling, appropriate reason to do so, when a warning should be given.

If you spot any content on The Blue Room which you feel is inappropriate or breaks any of our Terms and Conditions please use the ‘Report’ button associated with that post to alert a moderator.
