Hi Everyone

I need to buy at least one, maybe two metal costume skips for an outdoor tour.
I know they are really hard to find but if anyone has any hints that would be great.

I also need some costume rails which I've found through google but if anyone knows a good supplier I would be very grateful for the contact details.

Kind Regards
Nicola

Hi Nicola,
My wife who is Wardrobe Co-Ordinator for Redruth Operatic purchased some good quality rails from www.shopfittings-ltd.co.uk.
When you log on, look for Garment Rails and away you go.

Nicola

I always get rails from Morplan, if you are intending to move them get the largest wheels and you may need extensions for the uprights if you have long costumes.

I've never come across metal costume skips, why not use wood? If you do use metal make sure there is no chance of getting rust on your costumes particularly on an outdoor event where everything could be (make that WILL BE) damp.

A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on.

Likewise we always use Morplan rails now.I have tried SO many others and they are the easiest to dismantle etc.
As for skips....we are just about to go thru our old wicker ones and may be chucking out a few (we find we rarely use them now as we store most accessories along with costumes in their pans)
If we have any up for grabs I will be back in to let you all know
Sorry I havent been in here for ages...time flies dunnit!!

Keep an eye out the back of large department stores, its surprising what they throw away,if your doing it properly ask the store manager before diving in.
