Now that Rosco and DHA are one and the same, is there anyone else that provides gobos (looking for a few for a Mac 250 and a few size M) - I've got nothing against Rosco but this I'm working on this with an organisation that requires me to get a minimum of two quotes for absolutely everything (!)

Irrespective of the manufacturers (of which there are others), there are dozens of suppliers who would be able to satisfy the need to get 2 quotes surely?

Thanks I'll try them smile.gif

@richb: I've never seen the point in going through suppliers of something a manufacturer sells directly ... but yes, for this purpose it would probably do.

We get gobos cheaper from our local suppliers than the manufacturers offer us, as they deal in larger quantities than one organisation could.

If time is not a critical factor (I.e not next day) then try West Lighting in Finland.

Contact email: Johan@westlighting.com
Web:http://www.westlighting.com/catalog/index.php?language=en&osCsid=mbsmg4g2mav70jbug3cr9pmfh0
Phone: +35 8400 564 476

Johan helped me out of a tricky spot in Helsinki, when a warehouse tech decided to put the custom glass gobo's in the movers back at base, then the other warehouse tech prepped and loaded 2 new movers.

Within 8 hours Johan has tidied up the artwork (a very rough Jpeg I had to hand) and had the gobo's delivered via a local coach companies driver that was driving from his town to Helsinki.

AND they were much cheaper than getting them with weeks of notice from Rosco/DHA.
Projected Image are very good as well.

Jimbo

Just a thought, and fortunately I've never had to get quotes for anything if it wasn't my own idea to do so...
But isn't the point here that you'd want that gobo, which Rosco happens to make, and the quotes would be from two different companies who sells rosco gobos?

One of whom might be Rosco direct, but otherwise how do you know that buying direct is cheaper?
GAM are another gobo manufacturer.

Ross

Projected Image are my preferred supplier (ordered customs today). Very friendly service, good price, quick turn around and if the **** hits the fan! Newcastle is not that far away. To often I have had gobos from companies listed above that have turned up damaged, Projected Image take great care in the packaging. I once received a package full of sweets from them randomly, it turned out they were trying out a new courier.

Thanks

Calder
