laptop not projecting

Hi everyone,

we have two brand new laptops, both i7 with nvidia GPU and Windows 10, that recognize the external monitor, but simply can't project any image, if not for some seconds; like it couldn't keep the video signal.

A Mac and a couple of much older laptops with Windows 10 have no problem.

I noticed that on the nvidia control panel the two new ones can choose between geforce and cpu integrated graphics, but choosing nvidia doesn't solve.

The older one has no choice and runs fine.

I tried to disabilitate (not sure if it's the correct word in english) intel gpu but didn't work.

there is a DR HDMI between the laptops and projector.

any ideas?

we didn't remove the dr. hdmi because we had an EDID problem that we solved thanks to it.

the dr. hdmi has been powered powered either by HDMI that by a mini usb cable.

the cables are a 5 meters hdmi cable until the dr. hdmi and a 40 meters optical fiber.

Have you tried hitting the fn key and the key with the 2 squares symbols?

In Windows, using the Windows + P key combination is preferable to Fn + F[whatever]. You can tell immediately what state the screen combination is in, rather than having to guess where in the cycle you are.

hi all,

hoping to be useful, I just wanted to say that we solved the problem installing a new HDMI manager that handles both EDID and HDCP. the projector had an old hdcp version, and the laptop has the new 2.2, that is not compatible with old ones.

thanks to all

That's useful information, is the "HDMI manager" a hardware device or software on the laptop?
