Technical Instructor in Entertainment Technology - University of Derby

We are looking for a technical instructor who will support and develop teaching and research activities within the College of Engineering and Technology with particular emphasis on Audio and Entertainment provision. The post holder will have strong live events based skills with experience of current audio, lighting and video technologies.

 

You will be part of a technical team responsible for the maintenance and operation of college equipment. Able to provide full technical support and instruction to students and staff including training and advice on the appropriate use of resources.

 

Experience in audio research including the use of an anechoic chamber would be an advantage.

 

The role will include technical work related to Sound, Light & Live Event Technology; Broadcast Engineering Live Event Technology and Audio Engineering disciplines. This will include preparation, maintenance, programming and operation of sound, lighting, video and rigging equipment.

 

You will be expected to deliver formal technical instruction sessions, including handouts, to students in the use of resources, software and any relevant health and safety procedures. To include ongoing informal assessment of student competence and effectiveness.

 

There will be evening and weekend work associated with this post.

 

Based at our Derby Campus, the salary range is £26,498 to £29,131 per annum.
