PurPleY11 Posted February 12, 2018 Share Posted February 12, 2018 Job Title: Conference Technician Location: Chelsea / Fulhamarea, London Position: Full time Normal hours of work: 08:00 – 17:00 Occasional weekend work: Yes Salary: £20,000.00 per annum Reporting to: Venue account manager Commencement date: From 1st March 2018 The position: The AVTechnician needs to be able to work under an Account manager and be responsiblefor the day-to-day delivery, installation, operating and de-rigging ofequipment in a variety of environments at a busy conference venue. This will includeflip charts, small conference AV, Lighting and Audio packages. On larger projects s/he will work as partof a team taking part in the onsite rigging, operating and de-rigging of allthe associated AV equipment. This will also include managing any onsitesuppliers. TheCandidate: The candidate should be self-motivated,dedicated with a readiness to learn. They will be expected to beable to work under pressure, have a keen eye fordetail with a good client-facing attitude. The candidate should alsohave the ability to work on his or her own but also within a team environment. The ideal candidate will have atechnical background, having worked as an audiovisual technician for at leastone year. The job will suit someone who wants to develop his or her careerrapidly in an expanding business. DesiredSkills: Sound: D&B systems, Yamaha Desks, Soundcraft, Allen & Heath GL4, Sennheiser wireless mics. Video: LCD projectors, LED screens, Blackmagic, Analog Way video switching units, Final Cut Pro. Lighting: Rigging Generic andintelligent lights – Robe / Martin / Prolight, LED bars, Avolites lighting desks, dimmers andpower, truss rigging IT: Good general ITskills, especially MS PowerPoint and Word, Familiar with both Windows & Mac General: Well spoken, confident and well presented. Good time management and demonstrates goodteam skills. Good technical troubleshooting ability.Friendly and approachable manner Responsibilitiesand duties · Setting up and de-rigging of events. This will vary from theinstallation and removal of flip charts installing and dutying small conferencePA and projector systems, through to large awards ceremonies for up to 600persons. · Be onsite as a duty technician throughout the event ifrequired. · Management of event production timings per event. · Assist with managing all staffing and event infrastructurepre-event and on-site including logistics. · Be able to work independently when required in event set-upsfollowing clear brief from Account manager. · To be able to manage onsite production crew on behalf of TheAccount Manager. · Maintain good onsite relationship with all contractedsuppliers. · Be able to follow and work from detailed production plans. · Tonotify and clear with the Account manager of extra work and items on specificjobs including production, double time, site surveys, crew overruns. · Demonstrate strong support for Onsite sales Events Team · Strong adherence to both Peachy and the Conference venuepolicy · To attend, or ensure suitable replacement, at all eventsthat you are involved with so as to ensure the client is satisfied.
