Good evening

Sorry to re hash this subject, but I am after some specific support. I am trying to decide whether to use projections (probably through a 4500 lumen projecor) and if so can anyone recomend where I will find really good rain footage? I did see Beauty and Beast c 8 years ago and saw either a projection or light effect that worked very very well. Can anyone tell me what affect this was. I know Rosco do some and also Gam Products Inc from America. Any help would be great.

Thanks :D

Greetings,
When the 2nd National Tour of Beauty went out, the rain effect during the fight scene was accomplished by 4 Pani Beam Projectors on the FOH truss. The exact model slips my mind. I can check the plots tomorrow.
The current National Tour (North America and Canada) use 4 White Light's VSFX3 Wheels on a Balcony Rail Position. These are great units (besides the fact of being heavy and awkward to hang). Control is available for both direction and speed via DMX channels. Very convincing effect.

Gam Film FX are good, they slot straight into a S4. You generally need a couple of units though to get a decent wash.. Cheaper than a projector.

Projection only really works well with a very bright projector.. get some media type to create some rain in Adobe After Effects, it only takes 2 seconds (and then 10 mins to render)

A light effect might be a easier option if it is the only AV useage (no real point installing a video system for a bit of rain)
