Hi BR,

I am due to leave Sixth Form in June - July, and I am looking at pursuing my interest within technical theatre (in particular lighting and AV) by getting an apprenticeship or a 'trainee position' with a theatre; hire company; freelancer; or in fact anywhere that offers either an apprenticeship (or is willing to take on an apprentice) or is looking for someone to train up.
I have been looking online recently for jobs, but after not having much luck (and finding that an apprenticeship I was looking at has been cancelled!), I suddenly thought about posting on here, as a few people have said to me that it's often more through word-of-mouth rather than official advertisements.

I have a reasonable amount of experience within lighting and technical theatre thanks to being a regular technical volunteer at my local theatre (I more-or-less live there!) and have a good general technical knowledge and good problem solving skills. I am hard working, have a good working manner, am polite; and get on well and can work in a team with other workers or people.

I do not 'expect' to go in at the top, and have no problem at all (in fact am more than happy) with going into a company/theatre/job and helping with general box-pushing and maintenance work.

So, if anyone is looking for an apprentice or taking on a trainee, or knows of someone/somewhere that is looking within the Midlands, I would very much appreciate it if you could PM me, or email me on: maxjones2000@hotmail.co.uk
You can also view my current CV here.

Thank you very much for your help,

Max J
