THEATRE TECHNICIAN (PART TIME) The Leys School Cambridge £18,969 (Pro rata annual salary) 30 hours per week (FTE £23,712) September, permanent We are looking for a multi-skilled Theatre Technician to join the team in our modern Theatre and Performing Arts Centre, Great Hall. The role will support a range of activities, including School productions, concerts, lectures, presentations, external lettings, Academic Drama lessons and venue maintenance. The position is offered on an annualised hours basis with flexible working hours which will include some weekends and evening performances. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic and committed individual with relevant qualifications, training and experience, and the aptitude for working with pupils. Alongside essential skills in sound, lighting, AV systems and stage management, skills in carpentry, CAD/CAM, prop making, digital asset creation/editing and scenic projection would be an advantage. The role is largely practical, based in the theatre and workshop areas. Depending on the post holder’s skills and interests, the Technician will contribute creatively and practically to all School productions, as well as helping to run the pupil 'Backstage Company' activity and supervising backstage during performances.
