Hiretrack NX

Hi room,

Does anyone know if the following two issues are easy to locate on Hiretrack NX please?

1) Hire Manager - Logistics tab. When looking up the availability of a piece of kit is there any way in which to see the price of an item as well in this screen?

The old version of HT did this which was particularly useful when you were on the phone and someone wanted to know the price and availability there and then.

2) Are there any filters within NX that allow you to go through the client database and remove all old contacts such as someone who's never been in touch in the last 5 years?

Need to do a bit of a clean up if possible.

Many thanks in advance.

David.

As far as I'm aware this isn't possible in NX, however for this situation just use the Notes section. It's way more powerful than it's predecessor in Eclipse, for a start you can see availability! You can also easily turn this into a CRM lead to follow up and then into a job if it comes to fruition.

I would have thought this would be easily achievable with a bit of SQL code. Give the folks at Navigator a shout on that, they've always been helpful for us when it comes to things like this.

EDIT Just to add it wouldn't be possible to remove people permanently from the database who you've actually created jobs for otherwise it would screw up you looking back at older jobs whether they happened or not.

However if you wanted to just see a list of contacts who you've only dealt with in the last 5 years to build a mailing list for example you could use a QBE query and then export as a Spreadsheet or use a custom report to do it. Again the folks at Navigator will be able to help you with that if needs be.

I agree with John Hudson.

Notes is where you can easily check availability and prices. You can even send it as an informal quote without needing to turn it into a full job quote - which is easy to do too.

Regarding contacts, I would not want to remove a customer via SQL, but we did update the status of all customers we had not dealt with in the last two years to an accounts status (that you can easily create yourself) of "Dormant". We actually did the manipulation in a spreadsheet and updated the data using multiple lines of SQL to "Set" the required field for each record. The SQL and Query sections of NX allow a lot of additional flexibility and power over Eclipse.

Anyone other NX users interested in joining a facebook NX User Forum if I set one up?

Andrew
