I've been toying with the idea of getting another PA system. The purpose of which is to provide audio at events ranging from 200 people outside up to 1000 people inside doing things like 80s nights, tempoary nightclubs etc.
I'm firstly wondering weather I want to go down the active or passive route.
I currently have a Nexo PS8 system (4 x PS8, 4 x LS400) and a PS10R2 system (2 x PS-10R2 and 2 x LS600) all powered by Crown K2 amps. While the speakers are very good and small, the amp rack is HEAVY. Also where it's a single 15" sub and a 10" & 1" top they don't project too well as they can't move a whole lot of air; don't get me wrong it's an awesome system, I just want to move up a couple of notches!
Anyway, budget is around £10k. I'd ideally like to buy new or second hand from a fixed install only. I'd like wooden boxes, with decent projection qualities and capable of producing a good amount of sub-bass.
If I want to go active I was condidering the HK Audio Projector system or possibly something from KV2 or perhaps the QSC KW system.
Passive wise I've been looking at either a Nexo PS15R2 system or perhaps a Martin Audio H3+/S218 system.
What would you guys reccomend?
Thanks.
