  1. Just wanted to provide some closure to this topic: Using the images above from Tony and a fair (lots) of trial and error, we managed to get the correct combination and pinout for the camera and usb->RS422 converter. All camera controls are working! the OSD menu is fairly flaky to control, but I think we'll just try and buy a remote for those particular elements that don't need to be controlled mid service. Once again, thank you to dmxlights, timsabre and david.elsbury for the assist!
  2. ah, super! Thanks Tony. Really appreciate the images.
  3. Thanks Tony, For the moment it is just a single camera so I think we'll be fine. However, a look at your box would be great should we wish to branch out in the future!
  4. No worries - I believe the Visca over IP on this particular model is only really useful for situations where a Sony controller is being used. As Tony suggests, I'll dig around in the RS422 for a while, hopefully get it all working.
  5. Thanks David, I believe it's one of the many I tried last night. However, if I can't manage to find an IP solution, it's one of my first choices for visca/RS485
  6. As an FYI Tim, this particular camera doesn't have a web GUI. Sauce: https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/camcorders/is-there-a-webgui-on-srg-300h/td-p/2650790 Confirmed by myself. I had a lot of drama even finding the camera on the network last night but eventually managed to get the IP changed to something our network liked. You mentioned there was some software available, but I haven't managed to find anything Visca-over-IP specific. Did you have something in mind? As far as I can tell, Vmix requires the 4K $700 paid version for PTZ control. Otherwise, it's going to have to be a mail-order for some DIN plugs and get my soldering iron out. :-)
  7. You legend! Thanks Tim, I'll try both out tonight.
  8. Hi all, Long time, no see. It's been awhile since I've needed your help, but I'm back! The church I help out has acquired a Sony SRG 300H PTZ camera. Quite rightly during this time they are eliminating all contact with congregation members by streaming services. But, being a church, haven't completely thought through controlling it... The camera has an HDMI out, which is fortunate, so I don't have to deal with IP video streams and will minimize the delay. From what I can tell, the camera responds to Visca and Visca over IP. I'm aware there are any number of expensive-looking hardware controllers, but has anyone got any experience, or at least know, of any super budget-friendly control options? Software would be fine, using IP would be preferable due to my inability to solder serial cables... thanks guys!
  9. From what I can tell, David is wanting to use already present cat5/6 ports and create a box that can be readily plugged directly into these giving him 3 or 4 line level tie lines. David - I would go for 3 with an ethercon 'out' simply for the neatness of the box. EDIT: SPAG
