Authentic flame?

Hello All!

Can someone out there help me? I've been asked to provide a flame effect for a monument which is being relocated- in its new location, a naked flame is not allowed. It needs to be electric with a 24/7 duty cycle. In terms of size, small- ish around 50-100mm high gentle flame. A fan & silk is not suitable- needs to look like a flame! Thinking possibly hologram effect- but I don't know much about the intricacies of such technology. Would really appreciate some input.

Many thanks in advance!

Richie

Indoors or out?

I think you could need to look at an arty use of solids to look like flame. Bronze with flickering LEDs Glass with LEDs inside, Perspex with internal illumination from LEDs. How much power do you have and where is it.

Nothing in the events industry looks like flame in full sunlight or in full room light, unless it is a real flame.

There is another type of flame simulator which uses misted water and lighting but again as Jivemaster says - its effective only in the right circumstances - you might be safer not trying to look like a flame and go with a single aerated water jet brightly lit to work in daylight - symbolize the eternal flame without trying to replicate it
