Ynot
I've been asked about hiring in a suitable motorbike for use in "Whistle" in November. I know we've had a recent topic dealing with whether fuel should or shouldn't be kept in a real bike, but that's not my primary concern as to be honest I'm happy with looking at pukka non-functioning options. The one place I knew have such a beast was Proscenium, but whilst theirs is from their WWRY set, it's already out over the period I'm looking at on two separate Whistle productions. So - does anyone have any contacts who might have a dummy, yet realistic looking, motorbike, please? And before we get down the road of using a real one, let's NOT. I am specifically looking at dummies at this time.

cedd
Brassneck Theatre have a bike that was used in our production of Whistle. It's a real bike, complete with engine. Our wing space allowed for its' use and the actor handling it on stage and also designated crew member for handling it off stage were both experienced riders. Nevertheless, if you're getting desperate then it's in Leeds and should be available. I seem to remember it's also wired so the headlight comes on with a switch somewhere, though it's been a while since I last saw it. If it didn't quite fit your needs then I'm sure that if work was agreed with someone from Brassneck beforehand you'd be able to make any necessary alterations. I seem to recall that some work was done to try and lighten it, but without a new fake engine there's not really much you can remove! There should be a contact email on the society website (in my signature).
