It's a festival with tight changeovers and a busy environment so mistakes/failures can happen. It may be the biggest festival in the UK but the challenges the crew face are the same as any other festival, it's just unfortunate for them that the BBC have extensive coverage of it.

I watched Motörhead on bbc 4 at about 8.30 last night. The sound was awful ( stand by for comments)After about 20 mins the bass suddenly came in.I was listening on a 5:1 home system and it went from a tyrannies radio sound to something more like a band

Tbh they weren't much better even after the sound improved

Dunno if it was a stage of bbc issue

Yeah I had the same yesterday. I actually thought the sub on my surround sound had cut out until I changed channel.

Everything I've watched so far has been great though.

Florence looked awesome, even if I'm not actually a fan. I guess it's still Chris Bushell as LD so hats off to him for a great design.

I'm interested to see what Kanye looks like, I've friends on lamps for the Pyramid and saw photos of the 700 odd PARs being put in over night. I guess he really does want 'all of the lights'?

I spotted the PAR array earlier in the day. 700 was it. I wonder how many extra genset's were used to power them all?

I skimmed the KW set this morning for the LX, his materiel and shtick passes far over my head...

BTW: Who's dong the sound on the major stages?

The lights took people's attention away from his totally dreadful performance. I'm also amazed that he is allowed to use the N word on the bbc, when clarkson got into hot water for saying it just once!

im sure we can al guess why kanye can, and clarkson cant though as unfortunate as that may be.

Indeed.

Out of mere curiosity I looked at the Youtube offerings...

The almost blatant lipsync for his number when the comic ran on and disturbed him...

But even more painful was the clip of him 'performing' Bohemian Rhapsody...

Even off-mic on the actual Queen track before he started 'singing' it was clear he didn't know half the words....

I seldom denigrate people in public, but this guy is really one that I'd go out of my way to avoid...

I notice that as soon as he started singing into his mic, he pulled out his IEM. Wonder what was going on there.

.... and then came Lionel Richie, who knew how to work the crowd in exactly the same way that berk didn't!

As I'm a bit of a Meldrew nowadays, I complained!

Dear mr johnson

Thanks for contacting the BBC.

We’ll normally include the full text of your complaint to BBC staff in the overnight reports we compile for them about the complaints and other reaction we’ve received today (with all your personal details removed). This ensures it will reach the right people quickly tomorrow morning. We’ll then aim to reply to you within 10 working days, or around 2 weeks, but it also depends on the nature of your complaint and whether the relevant people can respond to us in time.

We aim to use your licence fee as efficiently as we can, so if you complained about the same issues as others we will send our response to you and everyone. For the same reason we may not investigate or reply in great detail if a complaint doesn’t suggest a potential breach of BBC standards, or a significant issue of general importance.

Here are the details of your complaint:

YOUR COMPLAINT:

Complaint Summary: Offensive language

Full Complaint: I am stunned the BBC chose to feature an artiste in the Glastonbury coverage who is well known for using extremely offensive language - in particular, the 'N' word. He has done this in the past at awards events, and it is not acceptable to simply warn people in advance - I did not know which channel it was on, and tuned in after he had started - making the assumption the output would be not live, but delayed so these totally unacceptable words could be edited out. You have shown in the past you consider this word to be unacceptable - the Jeremy Clarkson affair showing the BBC will not tolerate the word, even when mumbled. yet you allow somebody to use it, presumably for artistic reasons. If the word is banned, it is banned, and steps should have been put into place months ago to deal with this. It is unacceptable to use ethnicity to allow the usage, when the word itself causes the offence. A message at the start is ridiculous. There can only be one standard. Is the word acceptable, or not. It cannot be both!
