  1. We have used Dimplex fire places in the past, very realistic looking, and decent sizes. Defiantly not the cheapest option though. https://www.dimplex.co.uk/optimyst
  2. Grid the bar, and then pull any slack through instead?
  3. I've had This one for a few years. It's travelled the world with me and still going strong!
  4. Hi all, we’re planning an event later in the year where I would quite like the option of a local radio station for visitors as they’re driving into site. The site is in the middle of no where, and probably about 5km wide, and 5km long. The event would run for a couple of weeks. What are the laws and practicalities regarding this? The broadcast content would be made in-house, so copyright wouldn’t be an issue. Thanks!

    Audio Playback

Hi all, I use Visual Productions Products such as B stations, and Cue cores for lighting, and show control on shows where we just want simple, or automatic playback. I’d like to find some sort of audio playback that is similar in operation. I’d like to be able to trigger it with OSC, or GPIO and have a solid state drive. Reliability is the key. As I’d like to be able to stuff it in an IP box and leave it outsoide for weeks at a time I’m aware of the Brightsign kit, but it doesn’t seem to natively support OSC. A MacBook with Qlab is over kill as well. Any suggestions?
  6. Can you not just simply make some loops that will run down one of the fly lines, in a similar way to how a chain runner would work? Just make sure to have an out dead that allows for the bunched up cable to sit on top when the bar is out otherwise it will get expensive!
  7. Where abouts in Hampshire are you? We’re in Basingstoke, and might be able to help.
  8. Once you’re all programmed, maybe it’s worth reading the script through, and getting a friend or family member to run through the cues on Qlab. If it’s labelled and clear enough for them, anyone should be able to do it!
  9. Anything from the Robe architectural range any good? https://www.anolislighting.com/index.php/applications/inground
  10. In the past I've used the guts out of a Showtech Sunstrip. 10ch of dimming, in a module that's easy to re-use. Works out to be about £17 per channel.
  11. There's clearly the capacity to hang stuff in there, it's just having the ability to get at it! We're based in Basingstoke and could look at options if that's of any use?
  12. You just want to rotate the fixture in the stage view rather than real life? 1) Go into the stage view 2) Tap setup in the top right of the screen 3) Tap ‘Position 1 of 2’ above the 4th encoder 4) Change the Rot X of the fixtures you need to flip Regards
  13. Hey, https://www.loomlightdesign.com are my favourite for this sort of thing.
  14. Hey, We use Resolume Arena, and it's great for this sort of thing. It will need a beefy laptop to run. I use the HDMI output of my laptop into a screen/projector. If the run is more than 20m or so, then reliability is likely to become an issue with HDMI over this distance, so I would then be looking to use a HDMI to SDI adaptors. Be aware that this will almost certainly start adding some lag into the system. Resolume Arena accepts Artnet from a lighting desk to control it, but you'll need to make a custom fixture profile, so that you can pick and choose what elements you need control over. I'm not familiar with the Zero88 FLX desks, but the website seems to suggest these will output Artnet quite happily. I can't help much with the projector and screen side of things, as I mainly do stuff on LED walls. The softwares free to download and use, it just has an annoying watermark that appears. Regards,
