This time it's a master class in how he sets up his mix for a large concert. He has some interesting methods and I must admit I'm going to nick some of his ideas and try them next time I do a suitable show.

That was an interesting video, thanks for the share

I found his video about comparing the gain-before-feedback on some popular wedges against a EAW Microwedge interesting, amazing how much you can get out of it!

Ive read some of his blogs too and I find him very interesting about the way he works.

Thanks for the video Bobbsy. Do you know, has he done any more videos?

Yup...he's got quite into videos over the last few months. He tends to announce them in his blog and also on Facebook...or you can just search "Dave Rat Videos" on YouTube.

I thought the point was that he could, easily switch the mix to preserve dynamics where he needs to and curtail them if he wished. (As in his loud and fast vs / slower and ''quieter'' example. His comps aren't set to 'crush' anyways... 3:1 ratio would hardly affect the dynamic range of a band like the Chilli Peppers IMO.

Interesting techniques none the less. Very practically minded.
