Google-fu fail (mismatching fixings on drapes)

The drapes in my venue have a mixture of fixings, with some having tape ties and others sewn-on G-clips for clipping to track runners. In the quite-common event that we want to hang a drape with G-clips onto a bare bar, we currently have to loop chain around the bar, clamped at each end, to provide points to clip the drapes to, which is far from ideal.

I'm sure there must exist a piece of rigging which loops over the bar and has a hole or fixing point at either end, just long enough for the two holes to marry up underneath the bar, that you could then clip the G-clip through. Maybe something like a really tiny spanset, or more of a metal or plastic clip. But I haven't the first clue about what to search for to find such a thing. Does anyone know the name of the thing I'm looking for, or something that might solve the same problem?

Should have known someone was going to suggest that! Reason for me wanting to avoid cable ties is the weight: they're a reasonably long drop, double-thickness (mostly for acoustics) and someone decided to get uranium for the chain weight, or it feels that way at least. I'd prefer to have something a bit more reliable for the fixing; I know you can get some pretty chunky ties, but that seems to rather defeat the point.

I seem to remember seeing some gadget in the PLASA innovation gallery some years ago that was meant to address this sort of issue. Something like a plastic snap hook in hookclamp size with a ring below it? Or was it elastic?

Like the bungee loops with hooks ? http://www.flints.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000001.pl?WD=screen&PN=Marine_Shock_Cord_Loops___Spanfixes.html#aROP090Ma

There are those weird 2 part grips (I am REALLY sorry I have no idea what they are called) that are loose and get tighter the more weight added, the loops at the top you could add rings to. e2a - FOUND THEM http://www.flints.co.uk/acatalog/Holdons.html

at a place that I worked we had some 3" or so steel or brass rings on pipe.

the rings have to stay on the bar or the bar partially derigged to remove them.

I don't think that you'd find cheaper than a big bit of safety chain type stuff cut into 4'6" bits.

or sash tied into short loops.

Nylon loops?

I use as cable ties some rubber things that I bought from costco.

They are supposed to be luggage straps and have slots in them and the end is like an arrow head

One method I've used when hanging drapes with hooks across the top is to tie a piece of rope to the bar such that it is fixed to the bar only at both ends and runs along the top of the bar. Then I hook the cloth to the rope alternating the side I hook on to i.e. the first hook goes in front of the bar , the second goes behind the bar, and so on. This method only works for drapes not cloths as it forces the drapes to ripple (not sure if thats the right word).
