Self Employed. Live Sound Engineer, both ends, many years. I do a lot of video stuff as well, mostly live events, mostly with a big LED screen or two on the end of the cable.

  1. Core Pro Audio in Bromsgrove did a Digico training session this week. It might be worth contacting them to see if they have any others planned. https://www.coreproaudio.co.uk/ Cheers, Peter
  2. Adlib are doing Digico training in October. https://www.adlib.co.uk/training
  3. It will work fine. The 1031 is a passive omni directional antenna. Although you will lose some signal in the cable you use to attach the antenna to the ASA1 you will generally gain a bit of advantage by being able to get a better place to physically locate the antenna for an improved reception. Cheers, Peter
  4. Not really anwering your question but have you considered a slightly different approach to the problem? If you have a pair of ISA Ones and a MOTU 24ai, you could feed the Motu from the Adat outputs of each ISA One. This would free up the analogue output of the ISA One to feed your recorder without affecting the matching of the stereo pair. Cheers, Peter
  5. Have a look at the Dante features of your QL5. Dante Virtual Soundcard installed on your Windows machine will provide you with inputs and outputs on a Dante network that you could access from your QL5. Cheers, Peter
  6. If it was outdoors there's a good argument for leaving it powered up to avoid condensation building up overnight inside the panels / PSU's. Indoors, less so. Some of the older panels were so unreliable that once you had got them working you were loath to turn them off again, along with keeping your fingers crossed that they would last a show. Cheers, Peter

Don't expect to need custom moulds. There's a good chance you don't. Lots of people spend lots of money getting custom moulds made that they don't really need. The basic Shure SE215 in ear phones are adequate for most people's needs. Do look at Sennheiser G3 or G4 or Shure PSM300 or above transmitter/ receivers. Budget ones will disappoint. Check you are purchasing frequencies that are legal and useable where you intend to play. Cheers, Peter
  8. The colour difference is probably just a calibration issue. Any installer with half a clue should be able to sort that via the software. I would expect installed panels to all be aligned properly. Cheers, Peter
  9. A properly programmed, easy to follow show in Qlab on a Macbook that you hand to the operator will significantly improve the quality of your run of shows. Cheers, Peter
  10. Useful info about the CT200. I'd looked briefly at it and thought it looked a bit faffy. Essential upgrade to the CT100 is a piece of tape over the on/off switch so when you do take it out of your case to use it the battery isn't flat. Cheers, Peter
  11. The dirt cheap Behringer CT100 shows intermittent connections. Cheers, Peter
  12. They shouldn't produce a multi echo effect, I don't think they have a feedback function. They were designed purely for time alignment delays so no call for it. Odd that both boxes are doing the same. Might be worth checking you haven't inadvertently introduced a feedback loop yourself. How are you feeding the audio to them? Cheers, Peter
  13. Just check whether it can have an external hard drive added to give you the recording feature... quite a few (including my LG) do? Even if it does have this feature it may not be of use to you. Samsung TV's encode the files so they can only be read on the TV. They can't be exported into your computer. I would imagine other manufacturers have the same restriction.
  14. The assets are all here: Toolkit for We Make Events The logo is available in different formats there. Cheers, Peter
  15. The output HDMI will be whatever you have set the video standard of the switcher to. Some broadcast monitors with HDMI inputs will not like non-broadcast frequency/resolutions, some computer monitors are also similarly picky about what they will accept. Cheers, Peter
