Urinating on stage - suggestions needed!

Hi

I'm working on a show that requires an actor to appear to urinate on stage (with his back to the audience!)

I'm assuming the best way forward is for him to conceal a device/gadget that can squirt a convincing stream of water at the appropriate moment. Does anyone have any experience making this work? Specifically, any ideas on what I can use as the squirting device?

Many thanks!

Hydration pack (meant for walkers/runners etc.. and usually sold through outdoorsy type places). The big brands are CamelBak and Platypus, but there are lots of others around.

Shouldn't be too tough to find one with a bite-valve that's easy to pinch between finger and thumb, and position the bladder so it can be squeezed under one arm. Some bite-valves have a secondary thingamabob to close them off securely when they're not in use - might be fiddly, but then again could help to prevent any unwanted pre-wee leakage.

Many thanks, all! The hydration pack seems to be working well! Just a question of mastering the direction of aim...

As in life ...

Perhaps you should take into account the age of the performer.

If over 40 than a gentle stop start weak stream complete with noises of frustration.

If under 35 then a good powerful full on stream.

Speak for yourself!.

Reminds me......

An actor friend, required to wet himself, had a small bag in a pocket with a tube arrangement. Half a cup of water was all it took to produce the desired dark patch on his light coloured trousers. But one night he forgot to fill the bag. No problem, he'd had several cups of tea, so could do what was needed. Except that once one starts, it can be very difficult to stop. By the end of the scene, he had filled a shoe, was making squelching noises as he walked, and a small stream was heading towards the pit!
