  1. Well - looks like sweat and corrosion. Not sure whether this one is saveable. Ian
  2. We are able to sync both packs to receviers. All settings come across. Just no rf from the pack. Looking at the packs, there was no rf signal showing on the display. We will try an internal clean. Thanks for the suggestions.
  3. Thanks. I'm pretty sure that my sound engineer checked that, but I'll ask him and check again. Strangely, we had another transmitter go down with the exact same fault between the matinee and evening performance as well. This was a completely different set of transmitters (the hired set as opposed to our in-house set).
  4. We have a EW100 G3 belt pack that has suddenly stopped transmitting RF. We have reset and checked everything thatwe can think of. Receiver shows "mute" even after re-syncing. Pack was OK a week ago. This week - no signal. Does anyone have any ideas what could be the problem.
  5. I have an issue with some creaky rostra. The rostra are of a wooden construction, plywood tops on a wooden frame. Due to some - shall we say - larger cast members in the current show, the rostra are creaking rather badly. They are well braced - no sign of splitting or any other timber failure. My only option is to try to mitigate the creaking. Replacement or rebuildng is not an option. At the moment, the only solution I have is to turn the rostra upsidedown, check all the screws and the try to brush some graphite powder into all the joints - unless anyone has a better alternative?
  6. The title says it all. I have a new PC. I have installed Showmagic, but ArtNet is not detecting the network card. As far as I can see, all the network addresses are correct. I am using Entecc Open DMX Ethernet Mk2 The system works with my ancient laptop, so I know the issue is not infrastructure. When I try to connect, ArtNet is not seeing the network card. However, the network card is working fine. It connects to my home network. Any thoughts on what I have missed? Ian
  7. And that about sums up the problem! We are fortunate, that as part of the church community, we don't have to pay to use the hall for rehearsals and performances, and over time we have managed to build up a reasonable amount of kit. However, making changes to the fabric of the building is a major issue. The understage does have a lot of bracing (front-to-back and left-to-right, but it is also used by others for storage, so additional bracing is not an option. Maybe we just go low tech and get the enemble to sing out!
  8. Thanks for the responses - looks like I need to do some more research.
  9. We are considering upgrading our mics that are use for our musical theatre productions. The venue is a typical church hall (in northern Sydney) - raised stage 8m wide and 4.5m deep. There is no overhead rigging, just 2 lighting bars - one inside the proscenium and the other about 2m in front of the stage over the audience. Stage is wooden floor and hollow, so foot noise is a real issue. We currently use a mix of headset mics and Apex 175 Shotgun Microphones for general coverage of the ensemble. The Apex mics are at least 15 years old, and difficult to set up. We usually put 6 across the front of the stage, pointing upwards towards the singers. we have to push the gain to the limit to get any real amplification. We use a Presonus 32.4.2AI Sound Mixing Desk. Any suggestions for alternatives to the Apex mics? Ian
  10. Hi Does anyone have a crib sheet for the colour macros on said device? The instruction manual is singularly unhelpful - no information at all, other than Channel 7 DMX 000 - 015 No Function, DMX 016 - 255 Colour Macros Thanks Ian
  11. You might also consider Rotacasters - https://www.rotacaster.com.au/ - available from omnitrack in the UK - http://www.omnitrack.co.uk. Ian
