  2. The Traverse Theatre is looking for people to take on technician roles for the 2019 Fringe Festival. We are a year round professional producing venue based in Edinburgh presenting the highest quality work during the fringe in conjunction with other leading professional companies. As part of our Festival LX Crew, the Festival Technician will be responsible for the smooth turnarounds of all technical aspects of the productions in both of our Theatre spaces, including lighting, sound and AV. In addition, the Festival LX Crew will operate shows as required. As a team of 6 the Festival LX Crew will report to the Chief Electrician. This role is only suitable for applicants with experience of working in professional theatre in a technical role. To be considered for this post you should have proven abilities in: rigging and focusing of lanterns; programming and operating ETC desks; and a knowledge of QLab and general sound set up. Excellent time management is essential as well as the ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and delegate appropriately. This role is a physical one with a certain amount of lifting and carrying. If you have all this and are a team player with a positive, can-do attitude then we would like to hear from you. The working week will be 48 hours with one day off per week. Any additional hours will be paid at single time. The role will run from mid July to 25 August 2019. This role is not suitable for anyone with other festival commitments. The wage for this is £10 per hour with any overtime paid at single time for any hours worked over this. Any weeks that are less than 48 hours will still be paid the full weeks pay.
