the shadow
Could you be more specific? It is a wide topic I understand it is a wide topic but I am interested in learning about most aspects of it I.e Led walls, Projectors, content so any where that has good information on these. Preferably books or videos but can't seem to find much.
David Lee
Probably because we learn on the job or attending training sessions organised by the rental houses in association with the manufacturer.
Pete McCrea
Very much the school or hard knocks! Best bet - find a friendly local video rental company and learn how they like their tea brewed and offer to be helpful.
paulears
Books are becoming a problem because they sell poorly and there's little money in them for the publisher. Worse still, it's a huge area and is split into very narrow strands so people interested in projectors have different needs to LED panel walls. The connection infrastructure is also a totally different area, so it's very difficult to find any single source. You need to get loads of proper research on the go. Manufacturer sites first, then more research to understand it. You then need to consider formats I guess? Analogue and digital, but then the other stuff. It's easy to miss stuff too. Is UHD 4K? I thought so until I found out the differences!
Dave m
I am a great believer in books for learning certain techniques like camera work and edit packages, but the general industry moves too quickly for paper based products nowIn the days of tape based studios, a new product tended to follow existing products. I grew up with reel to reel and on through digital tapeBut now I use SSD based recorders and it is all file based with new codecs almost flying out of the ether. With presentation, which is what I think the OP is asking about ( a small part of "video") it is very product dependant and you need to rely on manufactures' bumf that tends to big up the product without mentioning drawbacks
jason5d
It's obvious but.... The internet is the best source of information and way better than a book,Search for the stuff you want learn about.
