Whats the cheepest place that people have found glow tape cause Ive been looking to find some for a effect.

The only place I can find is £3.20 per 50cm and can't find the price on the SE website.

Havent seen it in tape format yet, sure someone makes it though, but worth looking out for are the Strontium Aluminate based glow in dark products , after glow is measurable in hours rather than minutes with old style Zinc Sulphide based glow.

Honestly, I have no idea

Link to Rosco's online catalogue and they say it can remain lit for hours.

Depending on what you think of Rosco will decide on how much you read into the word 'can' :o

Saftey Shop do 10m rolls (20mm wide) for £25.34 plus VAT.
Search their site for NGT100 or NGT200. You'll have to register first though.

Edit: Oh and Flints do it for £18/10m here

There's really not a lot you can do to make it glow for longer - charge it up more is about it. Or, I seem to remember that some glow tape glows under UV lighting - so if you can get away with it (no white or anything else UV-reactive in the costumes or set), then bang some UV light onto the stage and see what it does.

As an ASM, I don't use glow tape back stage for that very reason. I'll often use white spike or white cloth tape instead. I remember being a carp on a show and having to charge glow tape just before an actor came running in between a boom and a German. Every night I had to jump out of the way only seconds before he came through because the tape lost it's glow so quickly.

Could you not tell the German to move? (I take it that's actually a Canadian term for something, rather than a person)
