J.B.C
Good afternoon, I'm trying to find prop money for a film and came across prop movie money.com. Has anyone used their props before? If so, any feedback on the quality and price would be appreciated. Thank you.
paulears
You might have missed we're a predominantly UK forum - with a few members spread across the world, so might not get too many answers on this one. Somebody might pop up for you - but figured a heads up might explain it if you get no response. As a complete aside, I sourced some money 'looking' paper and then discovered that Photoshop really objected to working on bank notes - all I wanted to do was remove the Queen's head! Took a lot of faffing around to produce just the few I needed.
beware
Continuing the aside, it's very interesting if you read up on the security measures related to photocopiers, scanners and software when it comes to money.
sleah
Will Photoshop object if you took a photo of a banknote and worked on that? Wouldn't be as good as a scan but for a prop I'm sure it would be fine!
timsabre
Will Photoshop object if you took a photo of a banknote and worked on that? It might do if it is a good photo with no distortion. It uses some sort of pattern recognition. Certainly no scanner will scan a bank note - they come up with weird and wonderful errors which sound like hardware faults but aren't. Andrew C
The EURion constellation (also known as Omron rings[1] or doughnuts[2]) is a pattern of symbols incorporated into a number of banknote designs worldwide since about 1996. It is added to help imaging software detect the presence of a banknote in a digital image. Such software can then block the user from reproducing banknotes to prevent counterfeiting using colour photocopiers. Research shows that the EURion constellation is used for colour photocopiers but probably not used in computer software.[3] It has been reported that Adobe Photoshop will not allow editing of an image of a banknote, but this is believed to be due to a different, unknown digital watermark rather than the EURion constellation.[4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EURion_constellation

J.B.C
I've tried to edit my own notes on photoshop but it gives me hassles and I'm cutting it short at this moment, but thank you, though. I ended up buying their product and I'll let everyone know if its worth it.

Jivemaster
When I worked in a big copy place (pre 2000!) it was said that each copier would refuse to copy money notes of it's own country. The copy protect details will only have been getting better since then. While it may or may not be an offence to copy money notes in another country it would certainly be "interesting" to try to take fake dollar bills into USA.
