  1. I had some basic covers (no zips or anything) made by Bacsew about 12 years ago, which are still going strong.
  2. I'd give https://www.bluearan.co.uk a call. I've always found them very helpful in getting spare parts.
  3. A friend made up some TRS > XLR adaptors with these a long time ago - seemed a very useful toolbox item. However he's since advised me that, while not exactly flimsy, they have not turned out to be as robust as one normally expects from Neutrik. I think he's now measuring their life in years, rather than decades!
  4. Absolute Music (Bournemouth) is where I got my TTs from.
  5. I'm sure they've all thought about it. Certainly crops up regularly in the feature request sections I read. It's the latency that's the killer for this I believe, going by comments from manufacturers. Low latency audio over wifi frequencies needs to use "tricks" (eg Line 6 mics which jump around on multiple channels) which are not built into a tablet.
  6. Got my first real tour work with them - mostly cos I was FOH for a band doing the South England part of a tour support slot, then stepped in on mons for the headline one night and ended up doing the last dozen or so dates. Was a bit more than a transit by then though. Happy days!
  7. If it's running on the free QLab, then there's only a basic stereo output available anyway. If the venue have a machine with an audio licence, I'd expect their tech to know how to very quickly set all the patching as required for their own system anyway.
  8. If you can use your existing lens on a new projector, then there's real optical no advantage in moving it any closer. And if appropriate cables go there already, even better.
  9. When I worked in a music shop (>30 years ago) we had a guy bring a new guitar back complaining that a) it didn't seem to make any noise, and b) he'd got a shock from it. "Have I wired this up right, as there were no instuctions?" He'd changed the jack on a guitar lead for a 13A plug himself - I guess he was probably lucky really as he'd picked E & N.......
  10. Dante would give you redundancy option, and can be connected to a computer without the need for a desk in the system - as well as working with anything else Dante (though gain and phantom control would need software or A&H desk). Anything more than 2 devices (+computer) is going to need a switch. If you’re not wanting any of those things, the DX boxes will save you a few ££ (or AB/AR boxes even more, but at 48kHz though more opinions on channel count) All routing options are the same.
  11. Can’t get through this - it assumes I work in only one venue, and that is the same construction throughout.
  12. The inflatable screen at an event I worked on needed one blower to keep it up, but the one they used was really pretty quiet anyway, and a long pipe was used so that it was probably 10m - 15m behind the screen. Certainly from where I was, the seagulls were louder! It was secured with a mixture of stakes & ballast, and I was surprised at just how rigid it appeared to be, in a quite noticeable wind.
  13. So it is. Let's try another. My link You gan get quite a bit of pressure into these, but I'm not sure how long it would last without liquid. I think there's one in my shed, but it's late, dark and raining, so any experiments will have to wait
  14. I wonder if modding something like this would be any good? link
