Wireless video transmission kit question

Does anyone here use a wireless video transmission kit. I have one but the range is questionable for what I need it for now. I need something that easily gets 500-600 feet line of sight. I have checked and found that the Cinegears Ghost-Eye Wireless HD &SDI Video Transmission Kit 150M V2 is a nice piece with good range. Anyone care to comment? Thanks.

Honestly? You could struggle. I've used the Teradek Bolt kits extensively, and with all this equipment, the quoted distance is in a perfect environment. Throw a couple of hundred people to soak up all the RF, a few cheap wi-fi hotspots dumping all over the spectrum and the effective range drops rapidly.

The bolt 2000, with their directional panel antenna, is good for 300ft in my experience, with a good level of reliability. Quite often when it does drop signal, you have to get the RX and TX closer together to get them to renegotiate and re-pair. I'm told this is fixed in the newest range.

Other than that, you might be into cobham/link type kit.

What's the application?

When you say soak it up are you referring to them as possibly being in the line of sight of the receiver and the transmitter? The Ghost Eye says around a 1000'. Well, if you take the other stuff into consideration, dropping of half its distance should get 500' out of it. I have read pretty good reviews on it. The thing is I have used the Paralinx Triton for the last 2 years and it has worked well but our last shoot, it didn't. Can wind affect the signal? It was windier than heck.
