Head of Sound Department / Sound Engineer Innovation Productions Ltd are a busy hire and production operation based in Barnsley, Yorkshire, specialising in the hire, installation and sales of audio, lighting, AV and staging equipment. We currently have a vacancy for a full timeHead of Sound / Sound Engineer within our busy hire and events department. Salary: · £21000 to £26,500 (Dependant on experience / qualifications) per annum based on 45 hours per week. With 28 days holiday per annum (inclusive of bank holidays). Location · Based at our Barnsley Headquarters, although event work would be national and involve occasional overnight stays. Hours of Work · Due to the nature of the theatre, TV and events industry, evening and weekend work will form part of the roles working pattern. Working hours are on a flexi time basis to suit demands of the business. Reports to: · Managing Director. Scope: As head of sound, you will be a responsible for all audio projects supplied by the company. You will ensure all our events are staffed correctly and will be expected to work as FOH or Monitor Engineer on our larger events. You will be responsible for the planning of events and be able to project manage events including oversea other technologies on projects where sound is the leading factor. Also as head of sound you will be responsible for our sound hire inventory, ensuring it is in the best of condition and being actively involved in its specification and expansion. You will also help with any sound design requirements for sales and installations. General Duties: · Project Manage Events as required. · Prepare equipment for hire and produce relevant paperwork. · To rig, operate and de-rig sound, and all other equipment for events as required. · To produce sound designs, rigging plots, patch lists and all associated paperwork as required. · Check equipment back into stock on return and to update the hire stock software · To clean and maintain equipment and run the audio department to the highest possible standard, also overseeing our video inventory. · Take calls, Attend meeting and advise / book clients hire requirements · Repair/ arrange repair of equipment as required · To actively participate in assisting other departments in both warehouse and event duties including (but not exclusively) loading of vehicles, keeping the warehouse and all facilities in clean, usable order, build of indoor and outdoor stages. · To provide full technical support to clients, Innovation Production staff and freelancers. · To provide insight, direction and innovation in order to push the standards of the sound department and Innovation Productions as a whole forward · Make deliveries / collections when required · Assist the installation department as and when required. · Any other duties deemed suitable by the management · To promote InnovationProductions services to potential clients. · To proactively promote working standards according to both H&S requirements and company policy. Required Skills: · In-depth experience of modern sound systems. · Extensive experience of mixing a range of genres (FoHand monitors) including bands, theatre and conference to reflect the mixed variety of our work. · Good practical electrical knowledge · Excellent time management skills · Good phone manner, with strong interpersonal communication skills · Excellent computer and writing skills. · Ability to work under pressure and to resolve situations calmly and diplomatically. · Neat appearance. · A cheerful, positive 'can do' attitude · Attention to detail and pride in work · Confident driving of 3.5Tvans. · Clean drivers license. · Ability to work at heights safely and confidently. · Strong and Healthy, able and willing.   2. Innovation Productions are looking for an experienced and skilled Lighting Engineer / Project Manger to manage our many production projects. The Main tasks of the roll includes Working with clients and other project managers in developing a specification and design for events. Drawing up plans and paperwork for events Performing site visits and acting on the information gathered Liaising with venues / clients and managing crew. Managing our lighting inventory, its readiness for hire and its future development Installation and fault finding. Programming and operation of lighting consoles. The development and promotion of the business. The position is based from our Warehouse in Yorkshire, but work can occur across the UK and will involve some travelling / overnight stays. The work is varied between Corporate Events, Music Events, outdoor event lighting and theatre. We offer a competitive salary and benefits, (£22000 to £26500 depending on experience / qualifications), combined with being based in an economical area if looking to relocate.
