Laser projector and taking photo of dipslayed picture

Hi guys,

I work for a rental company using different kinds of projectors. Until now we used lamp projectors.

Recently we have bought laser projectors, but when we used them on a event, photographer complained that the display picture on the photos look incorect by color, blueish, violet, oversaturated etc.

that was not case with lamp projectors.

For the audience the displayed picture was ok.

Any experiance, advice for settings etc.

Hi - is this a single chip projector or 3 chip?

I'm thinking your old projector was 3 chip, and your new projector is single chip - and the photographers shutter speed is fast enough to only capture part of the single chip image?

Thank you for your reply. Our older projectors were 1 and 3 chip LCD and DLP. never had this issue.

Is there any calculation or setting to recomend?

I think you're right, the photographer's shutter speed must be slower than 1/50th sec to capture full image. This is often a problem with ordinary DLP so I'm surprised you haven't seen it before, though maybe the laser projector is brighter so the camera is using faster shutter speed to handle it.
