azlan
http://www.bbc.co.uk...t-arts-35475381 not a lot of info yet, but A report in the Il Giorno newspaper suggested sufficient safety procedures had not been properly put in place prior to the performance. According to another report, one of the other actors said afterwards: "The noose should have been fake and a harness should have caught him if he fell. I cannot explain how an incident like this happened."
paulears
An audience member noticed something was wrong? It does rather suggest that our banging on repeatedly about safety here is the right thing to do, doesn't it!
DrV
What amazes me is that an audience member was sufficiently confident that they weren't watching a really good performance. I can't help thinking that if it were to happen here our British reserve would inhibit us from just going for it like that.
Just Some Bloke
After loosening the noose, the performer was lowered to the ground with the assistance of another audience member. What on earth were Stage Management doing at the time? :o
w/robe
After loosening the noose, the performer was lowered to the ground with the assistance of another audience member. What on earth were Stage Management doing at the time? :oThe performance was in a number of spaces in the theatre and the audience moved round. In a lot of site specific performances you go in to a small room where there is only the audience and a performer while SM are coordinating in the larger spaces and circulation areas. RA, in these circumstances needing to be even more rigorous of course.
