bibdybopdramaclub
Anyone got a good source of speakers with RCA connections? All amps and stuff are in place but we want RCA connectors instead of normal speaker terminals for easy connection/disconnection Thanks Guys, Joel
sleah
Could you just make up short tails/adapters?
Dave m
What do you call "normal" speaker connectors? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-x-2-Pin-DIN-to-RCA-Phono-Socket-Hi-Fi-Loud-Speaker-Plug-Cable-Audio-Connector-/361676611917
bibdybopdramaclub
Yeah I guess I could make up some adapters, But tbh I'd rather the RCA be on the speaker directly, normal ** laughs out loud ** should have made it more clear (Red+Black wires)
david.elsbury
That’s not anything you’ll find off the shelf. You’ll have to make or modify, as a normal user wouldn’t expect to find speaker level audio presented on an RCA
Owain
Assuming you're using 100 volt line distribution I don't think anything other than Speakon or similar will comply with regulations for potential exposed touch voltages on unmated free plugs. sandall
Doesn't sound like a 100V line setup, but if it is then Owain is absolutely right. The only speakers I've met with RCA connectors are the passive half of cheap "computer" speakers. I would suggest getting some cheap plastic speakers of the size you need, & just fitting RCA panel-mount connectors to them - if they are cheap enough then invalidating the guarantee is no great issue. J Pearce
You may have more success with jack or speakon connectors. Lots of speakers available with these connectors. As discussed above phono/RCA isn't really used for speakers beyond cheap hifi and computer speakers.

themadhippy
Banana plugs are frowned upon for speaker connections due to the nanny state of europe discovering they fit european domestic sockets rather too well

mac.calder
You can get ganged banana plugs that are spaced correctly for most binding post arranements which neatly solves that issue - or just ensure that you always pull the plugs from the wall, not the speaker.
