  1. The fixture does have DMX signal light, I'll check it the next time it becomes unresponsive. The micro controllers not talking has got me thinking, I'll try the light somewhere else in the rig and see what happens.
  2. It's on DMX The fixture stops moving, light stays on but doesn't change The screen stays on and works, so do the the buttons The light doesn't show an error and it doesn't do logs The light works fine for another 4 or 5 hrs after switching power
  3. Chauvet Intimidator Wash Zoom 450 IRC freezes after a some hours of use say 4 or 5 with the light on. if works normally after switching power. any ideas what's wrong?
  4. I operate lights at a local venue with some old Imove 250 and 575 moving heads which are failing. I'm looking at possible new replacements for £1000ish each The Cameo Aura z300 looks ok and is in budget It is a bit obscure - brand wise, we get visiting lighting engineers who bring big lighting desks and floor packages so it would be good to improve the work flow with lights that are already in their control desks. I have had good results with Cameo led par ligts any suggestions regarding other fixtures or perhaps a used option?
  5. I would use a separate led wall controller for the new panels
  6. Ive seen cable reelers but they are an install device so you won't find them on hire. Have you thought about a pro video transmitter?
  7. We made the local paper.... https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/whats-on/arts-and-entertainment/frontroom-festival-to-be-broadcast-live-this-weekend-from-the-picturedrome-3194148
  8. Is telling you guys about the live bands stream we're doing on Sunday from 5pm ok? Northampton's freelance production staff (lighting, sound and video engineers) who do gigs at the local concert halls and elsewhere are bored and need to exercise their skills and hopefully crowd fund a days wadges. So we're getting together for a proper multicam HD broadcast on a big stage and a small side stage with 10 bands and solo artists. This Sunday eve from 5pm on youtube Subscribe for a reminder.
  9. The company I work for can do 392 live on screen at once, they say are working on more but won't say how they do it. So it can work, just not as many as they make out.
  10. Has anyone heard about "theaters could be disinfecting everyone with an antiviral "fog" that lasts 30 days." I have seen them used in streets abroad this could be a way back to gigs and concerts. Any thoughts??
  11. I've done that with my 5w laser and haze from high above
  12. Defiantly not worth fixing. There are 2 working on eBay with new lamps for £80 each https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Nec-Projector-Np1000-New-Lamp/202870747208?hash=item2f3c09f048:g:14YAAOSw75BeEmLn
  13. have a look at colorband-pix-m-usb https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/led-bar/chauvet-dj-colorband-pix-m-usb-wall-wash?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqsf77pe45gIVg7TtCh09rgLaEAYYAyABEgI9X_D_BwE we use 8 of them in our concert hall, video of recent gig below I have put 4 up at angles using drop bars at back of stage. They make loads of different looks and only cost from £260 each
  14. In my experience cat5/6 for video is too unreliable - I've been let down too many times. So I got some hdmi/sdi converters and a 35m 6 way hdsdi multi - it's big and heavy but always works. I use it for IMAG camera to LED screens
  15. I do this a fair bit, we just installed a relay screen system like this for a concert hall in Northampton with 1 camera, 3 lcd screens and 1 projector across 3 rooms. Transmission is via HDsdi (for low latency, quality and long distance) with hdsdi to hdmi adapters for each screen. The camera is a cheap outdoor hdsdi security camera for about £100 Camera cost would be from £100 to over £50,000 it's entirely up to budget. Given your brief, I think you need at least full HD and spend a fair bit more than £100. The quality of the camera will have a great deal of effect on screen image quality. The most important question is what's your budget 100's or 1000's? (pm if you want)
