The original Behringer digital was actually quite a nice bit of kit, especially if used with better quality external ADCs and DACs. Could be an interesting bit of kit for the budget market.

That is a very tempting spec sheet for the money. I guess time will tell with reliability and such, but it does make digital pretty much available to most. I'd be interested in how much the digital snake would cost (unless thats included in the price - if so I might get one for the hell of it!)

The 'personal P-16 personal monitoring system' looks to be aimed straight at the Roland / Aviom kit, and could be interesting.

the mention of AES50 got me excited! perhaps they're releasing an AES50 enabled mic pre to suit?

Finally after all these years (can't be bother to look up how many it actually is!) Behringer have finally brought out a follow up to the DDX3216 :-)
The specs list looks great. If it sounds good, and is OK to use, they should sell well - I'm sure tempted!

EDIT: Doesn't appear to be touchscreen, which seems a shame.

Tom, I don't think you will find any decent pictures of the X32 quite yet....not until it is exhibited at NAMM. At the moment it is in "teaser mode". If I remember correctly Soundcraft did exactly the same with the launch of the Vi6 with a rather posh Flash type teaser.

Here I am in the pouring rain, the sound tower is about to float away, what on earth am I doing here? Oh yes it's the festival season.....I love this job!

that sucks, the spec looks realy nice and so does the snazy little teaser pic! im just wondering wether its gunna be dissapointing like all other behringer products of today?

or will the recent joining of MIDAS and KLARK TECHNIC mean that this realy could be a decent quality desk for the price?

hmmmmmm..... Only time will tell !

I think that Midas and Klark Technik were in bed together (so to speak) for a considerable time before the Music Group bought them last December ;-)

Beyond what Simon said, the key phrase in the above quote is "for the price".

Frankly, most Behringer gear is decent quality "FOR THE PRICE". When you consider how cheap it is, it's amazing it works at all. However, work it does--and some items are actually pretty good.

If the $2500 price for the new digital offering translates directly to sterling, it'll be around £1800. The feature list sounds darn good for a mixer at that price point--but, as you say, "time will tell".

The DDX3216 was around £1500, so they're going for the same price point as before.
