  1. yes, a bit of liquid in the floor of the unit, what does that indicate? It gets through when you prime it but maybe it's still just a bit clogged...?
  2. ello! I have a jem compact pro hazer that's not doing a very good job of actually hazing. If I prime it, it will haze, but otherwise it mostly seems to sit doing nothing but making noise. I replaced the fluid pump with a brand new one, the air pump seems to work fine and the heating block is heating. Does anyone have a service manual for it? There's an LED on the mainboard marked 'LD1' that's blinking or sometimes not blinking. There's also a small tube going to a sensor the mainboard that had some fluid in it but is motly full of air. Should that tube be full of air or fluid...? It's not giving an error message on the main display. cheers!
  3. Thanks folks, very helpful! Hygiene is definitely one thing I’m thinking of. Also the plantronics/poly headset I already own is actually super comfortable for long use, and a lot lighter than most proper comms headsets. That said I also found a thread on here linking to an ebay shop with brand new metro/canford style headsets for £50 which is a lot less painful than £200 for a beyer one. Given even a simple adaptor is probably £10 in parts and you’d have to get at least ok headsets this doesn’t make so much sense. As for them lasting forever... something like 50% of the beyer headsets I’ve ever used have had dodgy locking on the mic boom. It’s replaceable of course but parts add up over time.
  4. I've tried searching and can't find much about this but somebody must have tried it. I'm wondering how feasible it is to make an adaptor to plug cheap commercial headsets into a stonewood/metro comms system? e.g. I have this headset for zoom calls etc. (urgh) - https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0746R1R3R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It has a simple 4-pin connector, so I'm wondering if I could make an XLR4f - minijack 4 pin female adaptor cable and just plug it in? I know there's potential impedance issues and so on but is it worth a go? TBH at £60 a set plus the cost of adaptors it's not super cost effective, but I do already own this particular headset and there are a lot of much cheaper similar headsets out there, while used beltpacks often turn up without headsets.
  5. When the jester was new it was a similar price to the FLXs desks so it's not an unreasonable replacement. Can't speak for the jands desks but I really hated the ETC colorsource desks when I tried them a few years back - software changes so I'm sure they're better now but no functions being on fixed buttons really annoyed me. I've since bought a couple of flx s24s for my venue - one with my own cash - and hire FLX full size consoles often.
  6. Cheers! I was thinking along those lines - it narrow it down to something on the main pcb and I’m not keen on tackling components on that. I’ll give zero 88 a buzz or an email.
  7. Hi! I have a betapack 3 where the first two channels don’t output at all. It’s wired with single phase input. I’ve ruled out the main triacs. There’s nothing obvious wrong. Any ideas? There’s a large component on the main pcb that there seems to be 3 of, looks a pain to change and I don’t know what it is but it seems possible. Anyone got any ideas?
