24v Linear actuator switch

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Trying to make a switch panel for some linear actuators, the are 24 v DC, very simple. wire it up one way and the rod pushes out, the other way and returns. At the minute just doing this by hand and sending them in and out.

What I am after is a toggle switch like a motor controller that has 3 positions, up-out, middle off, down- in. So it is 2 pole that switches completely. Looking at all the switches on RS and getting a little confused.

Anyone done this before ? What switch did you use ? Sorry if this is confusing.

Thanks in advance

You need a DPDT switch with a centre off position. In the RS parametric search box this is either ON-OFF-ON or (ON)-OFF-(ON) depending on whether you want it to stay put or spring back to the centre position.
