ANDYLASER
Bit of an unusual one, does anyone know of a source for a double in-line clamp, or back to back clamp depending on your terminology. I want to be able to clamp a lightweight pole vertically to either a horizontal bar, or a solid surface such as a table top.Like this.http://I.imgur.com/SZoDeFl.jpg Most of the double clamps I have found, are orientated incorrectly for this, as they are attached side to side, or 90 degrees out of alignment. I have found this, it is orientated correctly, but looks a bit light weight.http://I.imgur.com/UmUdPgc.jpg Ideally something like 2 of these fixed back to back with a lockable swivel would be ideal, but I havent found anything like that yet.http://I.imgur.com/moGA0jL.jpg Any ideas appreciated. Thanks.
the kid
Something like a double superclamp ? Most are at 90deg to eachother but I dont see why you couldnt make that in line. They are 15kg a unit IIR.
ANDYLASER
Superclamps wont work, as the clamp bolts are on the rear face, therefore preventing them from being mounted back to back. The clamping mechanism has to be on the side of the clamp to allow back to back mounting.
Whiskers
Here are some ideas - Its hard to be sure as I don't know what scale of edifice you are constructing - as ever if you want a signed off structural for life critical go and pay someone fancy, I am just a UniLife bodger bloke you met on the net If the small pole can be scaff (48mm) then try girder clamps http://www.scaffoldi...ravlok-12-.aspx http://www.scaffoldi...oupler-gravlok/ If the small pole can be M12 studding then http://www.doughty-e...showprod_T29700 Various sizes half clamps http://www.doughty-e...29/10/index.htm If you must go smaller your "ideal " second picture is a CLIMPEX laboratory clamp http://www.eurodyne....d=3&page=0&qry= there are swivel and ball joint types and I suspect a flat to pole swivel or ball - it fits Lab size about 22mm or http://www.smurray.c.../laboratory.pdf page 46 Have lots of fun but don't come crying if you break the rainbow! do PM if I can complicate your project any more
kerry davies
This is called a "transom coupler" in polite society and will crunch into a 2x2 nicely. Real scaffolders call the minge clips and they seem to be less than commonplace these days. Not sure if it suits but there are umpteen Kee clamps and scaff clips that can be adapted with judicious use of a hacksaw. Swivel clamps were my favourite bodges. Maybe a pair of either of these with a short hex-bar to join them? http://www.dedolight.com/dedolight/default.php?la=0&pg=00000400030821&id=DL-CLAMP-C§ion=0 http://www.dedolight.com/dedolight/default.php?la=0&pg=00000400030822&id=DL-CLAMP-D§ion=0 I think Cirro are UK dealers (I'm sure there are others) but I hope your pockets are deep :-)
ANDYLASER
Hmm, I seem to have lost a post from yesterday. :) FYI, the vertically orientated clamp needs to be able to accommodate tube from 35mm - 52mm. The horizontal one, flat surfaces from 25mm up to tube of 52mm.
