  1. That's the best bit! The floor was finished a year ago. This is a core drilling job plus diagonal hole for the cable. The builder and client are happy with that though. Josh
  2. Thanks for the link. I'm lucky that this is an indoor rec-room in a private residence but with polished concrete floor. I'm happy with the walk resistance of the Collingwood units. I'll be sealing them into the holes too as it's a polished floor finish it should take. Josh
  3. Hi All, It's been a while! I'm working on a project at the moment which requires 10x pillars to be uplit from recessed in-floor uplighters. RGB is OK but I'd really like RGBW for the better colour rendering. I've found this from the non-ents world Collingwood GL090 which is excellent as far as size, output and aesthetics goes but it's constant current drive meaning as I'd need 10x pillars independently controlled, that's 40x channels of constant current dimming which isn't cheap. I've also come across the Artecta Porto which is good as it's 230V and DMX to each unit but much too large for this project. I guess I'm looking for either something like the Artecta unit but smaller, something which is constant voltage so I can dim it from any number of constant voltage PWM drivers or a not million pound way of dimming 40x circuits of constant current with a common anode. Thoughts, suggestions and blatant product plugs are all welcomed! Josh
  4. For something like that, as bright as you can afford, then cut something from another part of the budget so you can spring for the next size up again. Only get laser as lamp is now dead IMO. Josh
  5. If you haven't already. consider Infiled There's a fair bit of it near us and it seems like a great product when I've used it. UK based support and service centre inc component level. </2P> Josh
  6. MTX Engineering and GSL Power are my two go to people for this. they can either work from CAD or draw for you. IIRC the latter are the OEM for the Stage Panels. Josh
  7. The questions to ask are (as a min). Is the truss suitable for the intended task? Manufacture data/support and loading tables for the centre point load on the intended span. Is the supporting structure for the truss able to support both the load and the truss self weight? Balcony rails may just be 2x4 and plasterboard. Not very strong. Can you secure the truss to the support safely and suitably? If second hand, is the truss still safe for use? An inspeciton by a competent 3rd party (Lloyds Britiah or similar with certification would be prudent). After all that, you may be able to use truss but is this cheaper than doing it properly with a unicol ceiling mount into a solid fixing or similar? Josh
  8. Both BCS and SSE (Sigma FLight) make these custom to spec. Give their respective sales depts a call. Josh
  9. A well setup IP audio system can get the latency to below 100ms which is no similar to being 30m away from the source of the sound (half way back in a theatre and you're getting that anyway) however it would of course be noticeable if the translator was in the same row as you. The three main ones we generally look at are from Barix, Ampetronic and Sennhsiser. Each has their own distinct advantages and disadvantages however we've found them to be a good solution. The other option would be the ListenTalk system from Ampetronic. It's DECT based so 1.8-1.9GHz and very very low latency with a range of headsets/ear-pieces/neck loops available. Josh
  10. We've got a couple of these and they really are great. Bomb proof too! http://www.sun-leisure.com/categories/Instant-Shelters/ Josh
  11. Hi Josh,

    Hope you are well.

Can you give me pricing on yor Xperience systems that you have for sale please?

    Thanks

    Ian

  12. Apart from where the material is reflective and the feedback into the laser diode will cause a good amount of damage... Some cutters will go though Anodised Aluminium, but if your Teachers say don't, don't as it could mean a large bill. Josh
  13. Hi Josh, I was looking on your website... You have a extremely good portfolio for your age! Good on you man. You will have to let me know if you ever run an event near derby or nottingham!
