Stagebob
I need to use a "fly spray" for our next production. This has to be sprayed over/around cast so I cannot actually use commercial fly spray can due to obvious health and safety. I have thought of using compressed air can (air duster), but would like the spray to be visual if possible. Any ideas? My other choice would be a small hand held garden sprayer that you pump up to pressurize and spray water, but not sure if I could get a fine enough mist. Any other options would be appreciated. Jivemaster
http://www.terralec.co.uk/fog__haze_machines/antari_fog_in_a_can/17639_p.html sadly out of stock at Terralec. Other disco suppliers may have stock. It's an aerosol haze fluid. You'd need to relabel it.
bigclive
Anti-perspirant? Very visual and something the cast probably spray on themselves anyway.
andy_s
I haven't used the canned haze, but I think air duster if you can find a visible one (they do exist*) would be better than haze, as it will disappear faster in a more realistic way. *see the beginning of this video - that's what you see when the "rocket" takes off at the beginning. I'm afraid it's a long time ago and I didn't source the cans originally, so can't offer more guidance than that.. they were disguised as cans of furniture polish with a fake label made in Photoshop or some such. ImagineerTom
Air dusters etc use butane and all sorts of similar nasty propellants. The normal trick here is to purchase aerosols of saline / contact lenses solution, swap the nozel on it from a jet to a misting nozzle and stick a label on saying hairspray / fly spray or whatever you need. Now you've got a can that will produce a nice visible cloud that vanishes quickly, isnt dangerous to inhale and won't stain
dbuckley
You can get refillable aerosol cans, that one puts a liquid in, and then pumps up with an air compressor. So one could spray water around looking very like a aerosol fly-spray can.
boatman
There are lots of videos on YouTube! Just don't pressurise the can too much.
Bryson
Kind of expensive, but as long as you don't need a fresh one every night, you could relabel one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Evian-Brumisateur-Facial-Spray-300ml/dp/B001RO8MNK
PatM
How about this. Much cheaper.http://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/sunny-day-thermal-water-facial-mist-125ml-305340
