Rainbow Scrollers requiring some TLC

I have been passed 4 Rainbow 8"Pro scrollers to take a look at in my venue capacity as general Mr. Fit-it. The first appears easy the drive belt has snapped so I can get a new one without too much issue, the other 3 however are all displaying the same error, when powered up they behave as if they have never been fitted withe a scroll, and sit in the -LOAD- / -0000- display, prerssing the dot drives the unit to what it thinks is the home position. So in an attempt to reason with the thing I have tried to re-load the scroll, all goes well until the -PCal- stage where the unit goes nuts between frames 7-11 and then returns the -BLoc- error code, which I know usually means jam on the scroll, but the scroll is fine. I have heard that this error can also be caused by an undervoltage supply, which strikes a chord, as the units were used in a cable run of just over 90mtrs for a show the voltage drop would have been significant. is it possible that there has been some permenant damage? It seems too suspisious that all three have developed the same symtoms.

 

Unfortunatly I only have the quick guide so if someone can forward or link to the full service manual for the Pro (RCC3001) that would be great as the raimbow site only now has the newer Pro2 manuals which appear quite different.

I've had similar issues with our Pro15s. It seems to be caused if the motor /control circuitry looses sync with each other. I seem to remember we had them recalibrated by White Light at a cost of about £15 each, obviously plus the cost of shipping etc.

I've tried to factory reset, but the way the scroller powers up it appears to be in the default state already as they are all ready to be loaded, even through all had the strings in already. I am a little still concerned that an undervoltage could have fried the electronics somewhat, but I'll probably end up giving whitelight or AC a call to see what they can do.
