Position: Finance Manager/Controller

Location: Old Dalby

Hours: 40 Hours F/T

Salary: Negotiable, dependent upon experience

Hawthorn, the creative technical event production expert, has a fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager/Financial Controller to work in its busy Accounts Department.

This role is newly created within Hawthorn following several years of significant growth and the recent strengthening of the company following its acquisition by a leading global provider of event technology services, PSAV.

Hawthorn was recently recognised by Grant Thornton as one of the fastest growing companies in the region on the basis of profit growth - ranking 53rd in the 'East Midlands Top 200 2017' - so this is an exciting role for an established Finance Manager or someone ready to move into a Financial Controller position.

Your responsibilitiesThis is a new role at Hawthorn and the successful candidate will be expected to develop the role alongside the Finance Director and with direction from PSAV.

 

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

• Preparation of monthly management accounts.

• Analytical interrogation of financial data.

• Assistance with budgeting.

• Support on Year End preparation of Financial Statements.

• Ad-hoc project based reviewing, be it individually or as part of a team.

• Shared responsibility for the development of the Accounts Team and their appraisals.

 

About you:-

You'll have:

 

 

• Experience within the events industry would be preferable, however, a proven track record in a senior position of an Accounts team and a demonstrable ability to adapt to the changes that the company will be undertaking over the coming 12 - 24 months, will be invaluable.

• Along with a high standard of analytical skills, excel spreadsheet preparation and delivery should also be to a standard where Mapping of spreadsheets and use of Pivot tables is a skill set that is already held to an accomplished level.

• Minimum qualification will be AAT with either experience or further professional qualifications or both.

• With our amalgamation into PSAV a USA based parent company, knowledge and experience of US compliance, US GAAP and Subsidiary Accounting Preparation is very much a priority of successful applicants.

• We have a very inclusive Accounts team, where opportunities and shared practices are actively promoted. With this ethos in mind a 'team player' is the calibre of person that would fit ideally into the Hawthorn Accounts department.

 

Where you'll be:-

The job is based at our headquarters in Old Dalby, but you will work with colleagues across our bases in London, Cambridge and Slough.
