  1. Are you planning to discard the set after the Fringe? Disposal costs would need to be considered- public/household bins are not appropriate, council-run tips are require proof of residency if using hired vans.
  2. My cinema employment, which briefly included Sony D-Cinema projectors, ended almost a decade ago so this is based on distant memories. All preshow content (adverts, trailers, cinema idents etc.) was1:1.85 (flat) as they were when on film. The D-Cinema playlists were setup with the commands to tell the projector to switch to the desired aspect ratio. So you would have a 1.85 command at the start of the playlist for the adverts, trailers etc. and then another command to switch to the aspect ratio of the feature.
  3. You can find out where your local cell towers for each network are using Cellmapper which may also help with positioning equipment. To determine whether the tower has capacity running speed tests using test sim cards will provide the best data.

    Coronavirus

The Scottish Government has announced that: They are still to issue more detailed guidance.
  5. It can be useful to monitor the level of attendance of each participant. In the case of the thread starter they would likely want to find out if somebody books places on the courses but does not attend, if there is a capacity limit this could result in others being unable to attend. For some productions there will be an attendance level required for rehearsals.
  6. The HSE guidance on first aid requirement only covers employees not customers. In entertainment venues there can be a lot more customers than staff. Ensuring adequate escape routes are available should be a basic requirement of any venue. The advice (England and Wales), suggests a daily inspection of escape routes. Ensuring emergency lighting works is also a high priority, last years Glasgow Cineworld power failure showed the issues of evacuating a building without any lights. It is a condition of Edinburgh cinema (but strangely not theatre) licences that "All attendants on duty shall wear a distinguishing uniform or armband, and shall, have in their possession an electric torch in working condition.". Both theatre and cinema licence conditions require EXIT (not running man) signs so the conditions have not been updated recently.
