The shutter identification game...!

Hi all,

I'm sorting through a big pile of shutters, and thought that the collective BR knowledge should be able to help work out what fixtures they are for!

#1 has CCT on the tab, but I don't recogise it as a Sil shutter, unless it's for a model I've not used.

I kind of recognise the tab on #2- Strand Cantata?

I'm fairly certain #3 is a selecon acclaim zoomspot, as we've got loads of them downstairs.

I think #4 is a Strand Prelude, but does it fit anything else?

#5 is a bit of a mystery- Sil or Quartet?

1 is a CCT Freedom.

2 I think might be a CCT Minuette.

3 perhaps something Selecon, but didn't the later-generation Strand Lekos have shutter handles like that?

4 looks like a Strand Prelude.

5 is a Strand Cantata.

I'd agree with 3, (as an Acclaim) 4 and 5, for what it's worth, but have no definitive idea on 1 & 2. :)

#1 was actually introduced as the early 90's Silhouette shutter pack (Sil 90 era) where all four blades were removable and reversible to get as broad a range of angles as possible. This was in answer to the Strand Cantata launch which had the fully revolving gate and made the Sil early 70's design look rather dated. (The original Sil shutter pack precluded removing the side blades as the four holes for the lens tube were laid out in a rectangle rather than a square. If you bought the retro-fit removable tube device with the new shutter pack you got a partially revolvable shutter pack as it was loose in the gate with a locking knob.

The Current CCT still actually sell them and have photos on their site.

#2 isn't a Minuette Profile blade. I don't think the Minuette blade design ever evolved, it was symmetrical other than a notch for getting it out of the pack and a cutout in the shaft to stop the handle getting too hot (and the blade going in too far).
