madferit101
Being new to the world of technical theatre I was just wondering which do you prefer? The Zarges Skymaster or the Tallescope and why? Is it because of safety or ease of use? I definitely prefer the Tallescope and feel more confident and safer! Thank you! top-cat
Different products for different purposes! Whizzing along the side of a flybar focussing lanterns? Tallescope every time. But if you have some IWBs on the underside of your circle... taking the tally into FOH isn't going to be much fun is it? The main thing is that one has a 'basket' and thus qualifies as a proper work platform. The other is rungs all the way up so is really just a means of access plus a short-duration work platform where there is no alternative. But then there are zip up towers, scissor lifts, monkey towers and all sorts in between too...
gareth
They both have their place in a theatre's arsenal of access equipment, and while there are some tasks which could be accomplished with either one, there are other situations where one of them is suitable while the other one isn't. You can't really turn it into an 'either/or' argument. My venue has three Tallescopes and maybe half a dozen Zarges ladders of various sizes, and they all see a similar amount of use.
