james3mc
I'm in a situation where I have no video or audio feed from the stage to the remote dressing rooms. I was looking at purchasing a baby video monitor (http://www.mothercare.com/Motorola-MBP36S-Digital-Video-Baby-Monitor/765033,default,pd.html) as a potential solution (£87 from Mothercare or John Lewis). Is there a slightly more professional solution but which won't cost much more? I basically need a camera that transmits audio and video to a receiving monitor of some sort. It needs to NOT use WiFi (since the venue has none and providing a temporary hot-spot is a nightmare). £100 really is my budget limit.
timsabre
The range on those things is not great. Upstairs through a wooden floor to your baby 5 metres away, maybe. Any solid walls involved, no chance. Look at pov cameras for flying models.
Charlotte_R
I reckon (although I have done absolutely no research) that you could get a suitable video camera that outputs composite video second hand and possibly even an old TV (or you might find one laying around that someone wants rid of) for that money. Chuck in some suitable cable, and you're sorted.
Vaclav
Have a look on Ebay - Micromark monitor.
dsharp7th
the functionality of my sound only wireless baby monitor - permanent listen one way, push to talk the other way - would be useful in many production environments. it also has a music playlist and dimmable light controlled by the handset so I have full show control, as long as the show only needs four lullabys. Owain
It needs to NOT use WiFi (since the venue has none and providing a temporary hot-spot is a nightmare). You only need an old broadband wifi router, of the type given away by ISPs ten years ago; it doesn't need to be connected to the internet in any way to act as a local hotspot. They can often be set up as repeaters too, if you need a chain of them to make the distance.
