  1. Love the little Theatre. LED lighting obviously take more DMX channels so that needs to be considered. In our amateur group we have a simple 48 channel lighting controller but have to double or triple or quad the lights up to fit in only 48 channels. We aim to go over to computer controlled in the future. With LED lighting, the white colour is different from incandescent (colour temperature) but you can buy some with warm light effect. I would be inclined to replace the floods above the stage with LED first, and when you can afford it, then replace the spots with high powered LED. Also might be an idea to replace all the above stage floods with the same type (make and model). This will make programming and controlling easier as well as matching the colour. But... I am an amateur and unfortunately we do not have our own fixed venue.
  2. I am part of an amateur theatre group. Our technical equipment has grown over the years and we really need a proper list of all the equipment we have. Even if to catalogue for insurance purposes. Is there a good application that will assist asset management other than Microsoft Excel (I am a Windows/android user). I was thinking, pictures/reference number and further adding of other information. Thanks
  3. Not bought anything yet. It would obviously help with the Feedback, but was wondering how I would achieve the guide tracks etc. We would probably one purchase a single unit (maybe 2).
  4. I am involved with Amateur Theatre, I have been looking at In Ear Monitors (IEM) and was hoping to also "Solve" three problems. 1. Reduce Feedback 2. Singers Timing 3. Singers Pitch Before everyone flames me and says the actors need to learn how to sing. Our group is not one who does just musicals, but on occasion we are called upon to sing. We perform in village halls (not theatres) and our entrance fee is £6 for a concession. My thoughts are: 1. Provide a "guide" track to the IEM , to help them with the timing. 2. Maybe provide a tone or note for the first note at the start of a song to help them pitch the first part of a song / phrase. We sing to backing tracks, but we would need some software to synchronise the backing track (that goes to the Main LR, with the IEM track. I am looking for some software for a Windows PC that will have two sound outputs and enable the user to "mix" various tracks to various outputs. I would like the software to be easy to use and also Somewhere near free (or low cost). Thanks all
  5. I notice that that system does not use "true-diversity" and instead uses "antenna diversity". I guess this is a reasonable compromise.
  6. This is our mixer so we should be alright for channels.
  7. Like the idea of trantec. In my solution, I would like a selection of CH70 and CH38 though, so for simple productions we will use the 4 free channels, and in productions where we have more characters singing (not at the same time) they can have extended in to CH38.
  8. We are looking for a "budget" wireless mic system i.e. not sennheiser for our local am dram group. This will be used for amplification of singing on stage. We are based in the UK and plan to purchase both CH70 (Licence free - 863 – 864.999 MHz band) and CH38 (open licence 606.500 – 613.500 MHz band) I have found a product by W Audio DTM800 and wondered whether anyone has any opinion of this. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-DTM800-Beltpack-Diversity-System/dp/B0753H4NJ2/ref=sr_1_1?crid=20ZWVZYMR7BPU&keywords=W+Audio+DTM800&qid=1692625213&sprefix=w+audio+dtm800+%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-1&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.42a483c5-1df2-46ee-a728-92d018483bf9 Was thinking of an 8 channel or 12 channel system (based upon 4 channels in CH70, and rest in CH38) Thanks
  9. Unfortunately that company and many more advertise the wrong part. When you question them they all sell the Mk2
  10. I am looking to replace an Elumen8 "Mp75" MK1 (which has a 3 pin DMX) but I can only find the Mk2 version which has a 5 pin DMX. I know I can buy two converters but I don't want to do this. Does anyone know of a place that has the Mk 1 version in stock please. I only need one. Thanks
  11. A cheap option might be with the wildtech inferno .
  12. Just an out of the Box thought. - (UK advice) If you have problems when audience fills up then position the receivers near the stage and use your multicore to send XLR wires back to your mixing desk. Either that or mount your receivers higher up as the audience are blocking the direct signal path. I am thinking of also purchasing a wireless mic system for my Am Dram group. Its a minefield of tech. I will probably buy 4 mics for the free channel CH70 and then 4 mic that work in the CH38 licence area. That way we can keep costs down with a 4 channel show, or alternatively purchase a licence if we need more channels.
